I can’t believe it’s already Thursday AGAIN!! Wasn’t it just Thursday like a few days ago? I don’t know, this week is flying by!

I’m also happy to report that I’m finally walking around again and bonus, it only took me a couple of agonizing days of crawling up the stairs, sliding down the banister, refusing to get up and get anything for myself (just kidding), and most importantly, using my Italian mastiff Prince as a crutch! I kind of leaned on him as I walked. Hehe!!

Let’s be honest, I felt like a kid again and it was great!!! Well, parts of it at least, like sliding down the banister!! WEEEEEEEE!!!!!

HOORAY, so that means it only took me a couple of days to get back to “normal,” if that’s what you’d call it…

Training long miles (even in the rainy cold) + loving it = normal???

More like, Having fun running lots and lots of miles – normal = ME!!! Right?

Although I still have a few aches and pains, I’m not doing too shabby!!!

But anyways…

DO YOU AGREE WITH THIS QUOTE?

“The loneliest people can be the kindest. The saddest people sometimes smile the brightest. The most damaged people are filled with wisdom. All because they do not wish the pain they’ve endured on another soul.” Timothy Delvecc

To be honest, this quote baffles me a bit! After each time I read it, I’m left wondering and saying, “Hmmmm” with my head turned to the side and my eyebrows all weird. It’s an interesting one, that’s for sure!

After all, What makes a person kind? Is it Loneliness? Empathy? Love?

What makes someone smile? Maybe Sadness? Hope? Warmth?

Damage instills wisdom? Hmmmm….

What do you think? I’d love to hear your thoughts on this quote or at least tell me…

WHY ARE YOU KIND?

Time for some coffee!!!

That is a very interesting quote to be sure! It definitely makes you think. 🙂 I try to be kind to everyone. You never know what someone is going through in their life and your kindness could be helping them through to the best part of their day. 🙂

Lisa, I love your comment and have always thought that so many people are going through so many different things (that we are unaware of) so smiling and being kind can definitely make their day!!! You’re so smart!!! 🙂 Thanks for being so kind to me!!!

It baffles me as well. I think that all kinds of people have various qualities without having a predisposition. In contrast, you might find a lonely person who is bitter. It takes all types to make the world go ’round. Great post!

I agree with weight2lose2013 … about the kind of people being … just all kinds of people … and what makes the world go around 🙂

It’s a very interesting quote and in some ways I think it can be true, but I also don’t think you can ever pinpoint exactly why someone is the way they are based on their struggles. I know plenty of extroverted and kind people and a few lonely, nasty people too.

That picture of the panda just put the biggest smile on my face. So glad you are up and around like normal! (Keep sliding the banisters though. That’s always fun!)

Yep, I get exactly what you’re saying!! In some ways, it can definitely be true, but in others, it’s not exactly right. Thanks so much for your response!!!

Okay Kristin, first off, glad to hear you are back to walking normal this is always a good thing. Second, love the meme’s hahaha! They are hilarious! Now, regarding the posted quote, I’m going to be honest, I had to read it about 4-5 times to process it but there is a ton of truth to it. I think that damaged people have the most wisdom because the use past experiences as a learning tool and the saddest do smile the brightest because they tend to have the ability to step back in this fast paced world and truly appreciate and take time to notice the little thing in life which can make you smile a flower, butterfly, sunset, etc. We’d all be better off if we could follow this example, I’m learning to take time for the little things more with each passing day. It’s always a work in process. As far as the part of the quote about the loneliest … I’m still chewing on that. I try to be kind because everyone I think needs the benefit of the doubt and it’s a tried and true Bible principle to live by (Matthew 7:12). Annnnnnd once again thanks for sharing the meme’s Kristin!! They made me smile on what has been a crazy day.

Wow, you’re such a beautiful person!!! Thank you so much for really reflecting on this quote and for responding with so much enthusiasm and insight!! I LOVE IT!!!
There is definitely great truth to this quote and I do know some people that have been through some real rough patches and maintained a beautiful smile every time I saw them. You’re right, they know the value of life and learn to admire the beauty on earth. I think it’s wonderful that you take time to get inspired by your surroundings and that is something that is an important part of life! You’re just SO great, what can I say? 🙂 Thanks again for your support and kindness!!! You are truly a gift to the world!!

I love that quote, and I agree with it. Not as a rule, but as a possibility. Some people turn bitter when bad things happen to them (understandably so maybe), some people become nicer/softer/kinder, I think it’s about not wanting others to be were you are/were, or about not wanting for yourself to get to that place ever again.

I totally agree…I get pretty lonely and sad and a lot of people tell me I smile a lot…I think that no matter how lonely and sad one gets, it is the atmosphere around the person that makes a huge difference. I have first graders and they say the funniest things and there are days I do not know what I would do without them! I confess I was bitter for a little while, but the bad moments in life arent worth being bitter over. Life is what we make of it….whether by running or being around people who make us smile….the point is that life is too short….so live a little and do not go a day without smiling.

I have to say I love the panda and the kitty photos! What a surprise when you get to the bottom of the post and you see that face, that’s classic! That quote is interesting, and I’m no expert to say whether it is true or false. Everyone is an individual and being kind is instilled within us. I think we choose to be kind no matter if we are lonely or not, sad or happy. Kindness comes from your heart, which is always filled with love. Thanks for sharing! Peace, love, bliss.

Hmmm, that’s definitely an interesting quote! I personally think you either are a kind person or you just don’t care so much if you are or not. But on the other hand I also think that people who got hurt are not always the kindest people. I have come to realize that these people often like to be left alone and don’t want any company. Interesting topic as usual! 🙂

I think life is too short to be any other way (cliche, I know!). I know when someone is kind to me, it makes my day brighter so why not spread that around? 🙂
